South Oxfordshire District Council Local Plan consultation
23rd February 2015
South Oxfordshire is consulting until 2 April on its Local Plan 2031 Refined Options.
The Plan includes an allocation of 3,000 additional houses from Oxford’s unmet housing need, as proposed in the Oxfordshire SHMA.
The Plan provides only three options of how these extra houses might be accommodated – housing development at Grenoble Road or Wicks Farm, both in the Green Belt adjoining Oxford (a location most consultees rejected in the last round of consultations) or a new town south of Junction 7 of the M40 (the ‘Stone Bassett’ of the 1990s), also unpopular with consultees.
SODC are also doing a Green Belt Review despite many consultees rejecting such a plan last time.
There will be a number of public consultation events to support this consultation:
Benson (village hall) Monday (09.03.15) 3pm-8pm
Chinnor (village hall) Thursday (05.03.15) 2.30pm – 7pm
Cholsey TBC
Crowmarsh (Pavilion) Saturday (14.03.15) 10am-3pm TBC
Goring (village hall) Saturday (28.03.15) 10am-2pm
Nettlebed (village club) Saturday (21.03.15) 10am-2pm
Have your say!
See the South Oxfordshire District Council website for details of how to respond to the consultation.
The consultation runs until Thursday 2 April.
We will share our response here on the website in due course.
