ROAR!
24th October 2014
ROAR is a new independent group of Oxfordshire residents and action groups who want their views on unsustainable development to be heard loud and clear….
If you are involved in a local community fighting off inappropriate development, you might like to know about new group ROAR.
Here’s their Agenda:
‘Rural Oxfordshire Action Rally (ROAR) is an independent group of residents and action groups committed to stopping the indiscriminate and speculative land grab from unscrupulous developers using the guise of sustainable development with much needed affordable housing, by only identifying prime edge of town / village greenfield sites and adding no value to the community.
ROAR is committed to mobilising ALL action groups and residents across Oxfordshire to make their voices heard in unison and with a mighty ROAR.
We believe in sustainable development, this also means a sustainable economy, sustainable transport system and sustainable infrastructure plans that are cohesive, effective and adequately resourced with minimal impact on the lungs of Oxfordshire (Green Belt).
We are a diverse group representing our communities and we will ensure our elected officials will have no choice but to listen.
We will debate the issues using facts, figures and local knowledge to ensure the needs of locals are not only catered for, but are intrinsic to future needs.
These are our communities, these are our lives and we will have a say in ours and our children’s futures.
ROAR as its name suggests will begin to rally at sites across the region to make it clear that we are in unison, that we will be heard and we BITE.’
