CPRE submits hearings statements in advance of second stage of Vale EiP
6th January 2016
With the second stage of hearings into the Vale’s Local Plan to begin on 2 February 2016, CPRE has submitted its hearing statements, calling into question the Vale’s plans for housing in the Green Belt and NWD AONB.
The Examination into the Vale’s draft Local Plan is to resume in February 2016. (Stage One of the hearings took place last September.)
These sessions will explore the major allocations of housing that the Vale of White Horse District Council is proposing in protected areas, including 1,400 houses in the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and over 1,000 houses in the Oxford Green Belt. Numerous additional sites are also proposed for removal from the Green Belt.
The Inspector will also be examining key issues such as infrastructure and delivery.
The hearings are to be held at the Beacon, Wantage, from Tuesday 2nd February to Friday 19th February.
CPRE will be participating in all the sessions at the hearings. See Matters & Questions and the Programme on the Vale Local Plan EiP webpage.
See CPRE’s hearing statements below.
