CPRE launches new HS2 maps
28th August 2013
CPRE has launched new maps showing the enormous impact that HS2 (High Speed rail) will have on the Oxfordshire countryside and elsewhere.
The maps show the construction, operational and landscape impacts of the scheme, and can be viewed at a dedicated site: www.hs2maps.com
The pioneering maps use open data from a range of sources, including detailed plans from HS2 Ltd, to show the impacts of HS2 and to place them within context.
Whether you are worried about construction lorries churning up country lanes, noise from trains spoiling your favourite walk or viaducts intruding on cherished views, we hope this map will give you a better idea of what is proposed, and help you to fight for improvements.
CPRE Oxfordshire remains opposed to HS2 as we believe more effective steps could be taken to improve infrastructure both regionally and locally.
