Live in Bicester? Love wildlife?

You might want to get involved in a new Community Interest Company (CIC) to protect and manage Gavray Meadows.
It’s been a long fight to save the site from development: a new developer, L&Q Estates, are taking an innovative approach and helping to set up the CIC. If successful the land will belong to the community in perpetuity.
The site is 23 hectares of ancient water meadows providing habitat for rare flora and fauna. The site is also of historical and archaeological interest with field patterns dating back to the 17th century, with ancient hedgerows and remains of medieval ridge and furrows created by a system of ploughing throughout the Middle Ages.
Find out more by visiting the group’s stall at Bicester Market this Friday, 27th May.
Or, join a guided walk on Saturday, 11th June at 10.30am and 12pm. Meeting at Langford Village Community Centre, OX26 6XX.
